It has a head shape similar to a flat head machine screw, but with the upper portion of the countersink cut away. As a result, the head diameter is smaller, allowing it to be used in narrow grooves and other tight spaces where a standard flat head cannot fit. Even with the smaller head, the flat head taper angle is 90°, the same as a standard flat head machine screw.

Because the head is smaller, only a small countersink is required, making it well suited for thin sheet materials. However, please note that the smaller head reduces the contact area with the material, which results in lower clamping force.
