■Hex Socket Countersunk Head Bolt -JIS B 1194-
The countersunk head profile allows use in applications where protrusion is a concern. It provides greater tightening force than slotted bolts.
Also, as with hex socket button head bolts, the hex socket size is slightly smaller than that of standard hex socket head cap screws. It is also known as a countersunk cap screw. Features: A bolt with a cylindrical head containing a hexagonal socket. Tightening is performed using a hex key (Allen wrench).
Although classified as a bolt, it is in most cases used without a nut. It is also referred to as a cap screw or socket screw.
Open-end spanners and wrenches used to tighten hex bolts require clearance space around the fastener, whereas a hex key requires no such clearance. This makes hex socket head cap screws ideal for work in confined spaces and for the miniaturization of machinery.
