■Hex Socket Countersunk Head Bolt -JIS B 1194-
The countersunk head profile allows these bolts to be used in applications where protrusion is a concern. They provide greater clamping force than slotted bolts. As with hex socket button head bolts, the hex socket size is slightly smaller than that of standard hex socket head cap screws. They are also known as countersunk cap screws.
Features
These are bolts with a hexagonal socket in a cylindrical head. Tightening is performed using a hex bar wrench (Allen wrench). Although classified as bolts, they are most commonly used without a nut. They are also referred to as cap screws or socket screws. Spanner and wrench tools used to tighten hex bolts require working space around the fastener, whereas a hex bar wrench requires no such clearance space. This makes hex socket head cap screws ideal for work in confined spaces and for the miniaturization of machinery.
Their appearance has also led to increasing use in design-oriented applications.
Applications
These fasteners offer advantages such as space-saving design for compact equipment and high clamping force, making them widely used across many industries. They are particularly common in mechanical and electrical components.
