The "15A" at the end of a size designation (such as M6x15A) represents the outer diameter of a standard steel pipe.
Just like screws, standard steel pipes secured with U-bolts have their own specifications.
Under these specifications, the outer diameter of standard steel pipes is not expressed in millimeters, but rather by a "nominal size" designation established within the standard steel pipe specifications.
For example, "15A" refers to a standard steel pipe with dimensions corresponding to that nominal size designation. In the case of 6x15A, this indicates a bolt used to secure a standard steel pipe with a nominal outer diameter of 15A (21.7 mm) using an M6 thread diameter.

Due to the thick coating of hot-dip galvanizing, other surface treatments may not be compatible.
